It's been a fantastically busy year for Bespoken.
In 2023, Bespoken joined forces again with The Old Operating Theatre to travel all the way back to 1705 and meet Mistress Willow who delighted audiences with her cunning tales of herbal medicine and cures. We are pleased to announce that Willow will be back at The Old Operating Theatre in February 2024 to offer more tips from love potions to unwanted wart removal . More updates soon.
Bespoken are also still touring schools and community venues with the Windrush project which has become our most requested show so far, so please do contact us at bespokentheatre@gmail.com if you would like a performance of Windrush or you would like a bespoke project made for your setting. These projects can follow the educational curriculum or tailor to any theme or topic that you would like to develop.
We also worked closely with other companies and organisations this year including Gunnersbury Museum and the fantastic Mama Quilla Initiative exploring new writing by women performed at the Alexandra Palace . We were honored to work alongside the incredible Kay Adshead and astonishing Iranian performer Najmeh Shoara 'The Woman Who Crossed The Road.' Our short piece Red Seagull was performed alongside many other talented pieces of new writing. Watch this space for more updates soon!
We want to thank all the incredible individuals and organisations and young people and teachers that we have worked with this year. It has been an absolute joy for us to make connections, relationships and work alongside those that promote and support the arts.
We look forward to all the new experiences and opportunities that our New Year will bring!
Lets keep the arts alive and support and look out for each other.
Happy New Year!
